It is the defining learning style of our moment. We are all about the binge. From authors to music to the latest TV shows, we now consume information by quickly diving deep into a subject area. With the help of the internet, new media and technology, it is a thrilling time to be a student and a teacher.
This summer you are invited to immerse yourself in the Synagogue’s Summer Binge. For three weeks you’ll have a chance to explore a new subject area and come away with significant learning accomplishments.
Option A: Hebrew Binge
Learn to read Hebrew in just three weeks. With Rabbi Kaiman leading the way you’ll break down language barriers and acquire key skills necessary to decode Judaism’s holy language. With the right amount of luck, effort, and skill you’ll be on your way to understanding Hebrew’s mysteries and complexities.
Option B: Transparent Binge
It’s a groundbreaking, award winning, intensely Jewish television show. It’s Transparent and we’re binging the first season this summer. The show details the story of the Pfefferman family and their journey through life transitions, most notably the gender transition of the family patriarch Mort into Maura. Under the leadership of Sara Levitt, we will explore important LGBTQ terms and ideas that are covered throughout the show.
Both binge sessions will run every Monday evening 7:00 p.m to 8:30 p.m. from July 10 to July 24. To register you can click the button below or call the Synagogue office. Enrollment is free for Synagogue members and just $18 for the general community. Come binge with us!
