The ninth day of the Hebrew month of Av is a special time for remembrance and reflection about the tragedies that have befallen the Jewish People throughout history. Members of our community will gather for readings, words and stories to recall our people’s past and the great sadness of tragedy. As our community mourns the loss of Nobel Peace Prize laureate Elie Wiesel, we will follow our service with a screening of the PBS Special "First Person Singular - Elie Wiesel." As he reflects upon his life, work, and concerns for mankind's future, Wiesel focuses on how human beings dehumanize others in order to kill with impunity, and reflects on the re-emergence of terrorism. The program will begin at 8:00 p.m. No reservations necessary.
